NFTs launched of players including Alessandro Del Piero and Christian Vieri

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has launched its Return of Legends S2 – a non-fungible token (NFT) football card game.
The NFT collection will include former Italian footballers Alessandro Del Piero and Christian Vieri, and Gabriel Batistuta, a former Argentinian footballer.
The collection is available to buy from today (15 November) on the Binance NFT Marketplace.
The NFT game cards will depict the greatest football highlights of the three legendary footballers’ careers and are available to buy via Mystery Boxes and auctions.
The Mystery Boxes consist of 12,000 NFT game cards in three tiers – Rare, Epic and Legendary. Each football star will auction one Legendary NFT at an auction.
Virtual event with Alessandro Del Piero
To celebrate this launch, Alessandro Del Piero joined Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao for an ‘Ask Me Anything’ virtual event on Binance YouTube, where they also discussed the future of sport with NFTs.
Binance and Chiliz
Binance has been launching rival platforms to Chiliz this year. Chiliz, is the global blockchain providers for the sports industry. Chiliz has partnered with over 100 sporting partners to launch Fan Token’s for the clubs.
In October, Binance Fan Token Platform was launched with S.S. Lazio being the first club to sign up to it.
S.S. Lazio is an Italian football club based in Rome that plays in Serie A, the top-tier professional Italian league.
Binance will also become the main football shirt sponsor for Lazio and the Italian team’s Fan Token will be called $LAZIO.
Then in November, Chiliz announced AC Milan, a club in the top tier of Italian football, Serie A, became the first side to launch NFTs with Chiliz. Since then, Valencia CF of the LaLiga also announced they will be releasing NFTs with Chiliz. Binance now too is also unveiling a sports NFT business.
