Bitcoin of America now has over 1,500 BTMs
During 2021, the amount of Bitcoin of America crypto ATMs more than doubled
Bitcoin of America, the company that provides the US with bitcoin automated teller machines (ATMs), has now established more than 1,500 crypto ATMs in the country.
The cryptocurrency exchange is registered as a money services business with the US Department of Treasury and is currently headquartered in Chicago.
At the start of 2021, Bitcoin of America had a total of 630 bitcoin ATMs – or BTMs as the company calls them. As well as an increase in the amount of BTMs, the company has reported a 153% increase in the amount of possible BTM locations in the US.
Additionally, Bitcoin of America has also seen its number of employees grow during 2021 by almost a third (32%).
Ethereum is now available to buy and sell from BTMs
During 2021, Bitcoin of America added the option to buy and sell ethereum (ETH) at one of its BTMs.
In May 2021, the organisation also announced the new Universal Kiosk, which offers customers three main functions. The first is the traditional services on offer at an ATM, the second is the ability to buy crypto with cash and the third lets customers sell crypto in return for cash.
So far, Bitcoin of America is in more than 30 states across the US, with the majority of BTMs being open 24/7.
Bitcoin of America becomes Chicago Blackhawks sponsor
In October 2021, Bitcoin of America became the sponsor of the Chicago Blackhawks’ post-game radio show.
Adverts for the ATM operator will be featured around the United Center arena, and on its LED strip. The United Center is where both the Chicago Blackhawks and the National Basketball Association (NBA) team the Chicago Bulls play.
Bitcoin of America adverts will feature in the Chicago Blackhawks’ programmes – as well as adverts on the World’s Greatest Newspaper (WGN) Radio website. The WGN Radio station is the flagship radio outlet for the Chicago Blackhawks team.
