Crypto market update: Bitcoin dips while ETH and SOL rise
Total cryptocurrency market capitalisation was flat at $2.66trn today
Bitcoin traded down by 1.1% on Wednesday afternoon at $57,808, failing once again to sustain itself above the $58,000 benchmark.
The world’s first and largest cryptocurrency’s market capitalisation fell by 1% to $1.08trn (£810bn), while trading volume rose by 1.7% to $36.5bn.
The second-largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, traded up by 0.4% to $4,689.14, up by 11% in the past week. The cryptocurrency’s market capitalisation stood 0.3% higher at $555bn, while trading volume rose by 21% to $29.1bn.
The capitalisation of the total cryptocurrency market remained flat at $2.66trn, up by $100bn in the past seven days according to CoinMarketCap.
Across the wider digital asset space, Euro Shiba Inu enjoyed the largest gains, rising by 2,228% to $0.00000000000838.
GreenTrust suffered the largest loss, slumping by 90.7% to $0.000000033. The sustainable decentralised blockchain project saw its market capitalisation fall by 90% to $4.2m, while trading volume stood 240% higher at $559,317.
