Crypto market update: BTC at $31,000

The biggest riser of the day out of the top 100 cryptos is symbol (XYM)

The price of bitcoin (BTC) ended yesterday at $30,074 after dropping by 11.61% during the day, according to Currency.com. The price of the lead crypto now is $31,467.

The trading volume of BTC has increased by 91.67% over the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, six out of the top 10 cryptos are down today according to CoinMarketCap, with BTC down by 3.89%.

Ethereum (ETH) is up by 0.44% to $2,396, binance coin (BNB) is down by 1.79% to $323, cardano (ADA) is up by 2.48% to $0.67 and solana (SOL) is down by 0.58% to $71.

The two stablecoins in the top 10 cryptos are both up today. Tether (USDT) is up by 0.01% to $1. USD Coin (USDC) is up by 0.03% and is also priced at $1.  

Ripple (XRP) is down by 1.45% to $0.52 and dogecoin (DOGE) which has fallen out of the top 10 cryptos and is currently in 11th place, is down by 0.94% to $0.11.

Biggest risers out of the top 100 cryptos

The biggest riser of the day out of the top 100 cryptos is symbol (XYM), which is up 14.29% to $0.088. According to CoinMarketCap, XYM “is a blockchain platform launched in March 2021 and features a new consensus algorithm called proof-of-stake-plus (PoS+)”.

The second biggest riser of the day out of the top 100 is maker (MKR), which increased by 11.27% to $1,241.01. MKR “is the governance token of the MakerDAO and Maker Protocol – respectively a decentralised organisation and a software platform, both based on the Ethereum blockchain – that allows users to issue and manage the DAI stablecoin”, states CoinMarketCap.

The third biggest top 100 riser of the day is elrond (EGLD) and has risen by 6.28% to $115.69. CoinMarketCap says EGLD “is a blockchain protocol that seeks to offer extremely fast transaction speeds by using sharding”.

Biggest fallers out of the top 100 cryptos

Terra (LUNA) is the biggest faller of the day out of the top 100 cryptos, which has dropped by 45.67% to $31.92. LUNA is “used to stabilize the price of the protocol’s stablecoins. LUNA holders are also able to submit and vote on governance proposals, giving it the functionality of a governance token”, states CoinMarketCap.

The second biggest faller of the day out of the top 100 is STEPN (GMT) having decreased by 16.74% to $2. According to CoinMarketCap GMT “is the governance token of STEPN with a limited supply of six billion tokens”.

The third biggest faller out of the top 100 is NEM (XEM), having dropped by 10.38% to $0.06. CoinMarketCap states NEM “is a blockchain platform that was launched in March of 2015. It was one of the pioneers of the cryptocurrency industry and sought to improve on the imperfections found on other chains at the time.”

Overall biggest crypto risers

Out of the more than 10,000 cryptos listed on CoinMarketCap, rakon (RKN) is the overall biggest riser of the day, up by 710.19% to $0.43. According to CoinMarketCap, RKN “is a blockchain-based network that is designed to connect infrastructure, satellites and navigation and communication systems in trust less ecosystems that do not depend on middlemen or intermediaries”.

The second biggest riser of all cryptos is safefloki (SFK) and has risen by 513.94% to $0.0000000001217. SFK is a "play-to-win token", states CoinMarketCap.

The third overall biggest riser is cyborgshiba (CBS), it has increased by 222.99% to $0.00000491. CoinMarketCap states CBS is “a game-based and passive income generating cryptocurrency”.

Overall biggest crypto fallers

MetaPay (METAPAY) is the biggest faller of the day out of all cryptos listed on CoinMarketCap, as it has fallen by 98.30% to $0.0000005765. CoinMarketCap states you can use METAPAY “to be able to sell the parcels and avatars you will buy in this metaverse universe, and you will be able to convert them into MetaPay tokens”.

The second biggest faller out of all cryptos is dinoexchange (DINO), which has dropped by 71.41% to $0.008856. DINO “is the main cryptocurrency at DINO Exchange” states CoinMarketCap.

The third biggest faller out of all cryptos today is HarryPotterObamaSonicInu (BITCOIN) which is down by 72.15% to $0.00000000136. CoinMarketCap says BITCOIN “is a fun cryptoasset that incentivises the creation of novel and entertaining meme content”.
