Crypto prices - bitcoin holding steady

The most-traded cryptocurrencies appear to be holding on to gains

                                

The price of bitcoin was steady at $34,793 at 09:00 BST (UTC+1) Wednesday, down just 0.01% over the previous 24 hours and trading at 1.21% off its highest value during the last week according to CoinMarketCap.

The second most-traded cryptocurrency, ether, was trading at $2,375.67 – an increase of 1.78% over the last 24 hours and a rise of 10.01% over the last 7 days.

Tether held on to its gains of the last week, stubbornly gripping the $1 mark.

Binance appears to have shrugged off last week’s UK ban of Binance Markets by the FCA. It was up at $333.53, a rise of 4.33% over the last 24 hours and 11.33% during the last seven days.

Cardano was last valued at $1.43, down 1.03% on the last 24 hours but up 6.25% on the week.

European stock markets

European stock exchanges were trading in positive territory following Tuesday’s muted close on New York’s S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average indices.

At one point, the Dow dropped more than 1%, or 400 points, but clawed back 208.98 points to end the day at 34,577.37. The S&P 500 closed 0.2% down at 4,343.54

Both indices had closed on record highs on Friday following positive June jobs data.

London’s FTSE 100 index of blue-chip stocks was trading at 7,140.66, up +39.78 a rise of 0.56% on the previous day's close.

Germany’s DAX was trading at 15,638.54, up 127.16 points and 0.82% on yesterday’s, close while France’s CAC was up 30.52 points, 0.47% at 6,538.00.
