Davis Cup to unveil fan token on Socios.com
Davis Cup will be the first tennis brand to partner with Socios.com
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Kosmos Tennis, the organisers of the Davis Cup, are to launch a fan token on supporter-engagement app Socios.com.
They have signed a deal with Chiliz, the global blockchain providers for the sports industry, that will see the Davis Cup become the first tennis brand to partner with Socios.com.
The $DAVIS Fan Token will allow “tennis fans worldwide unprecedented access to the tournament widely known as the World Cup of tennis”, according to Chiliz.
Engagement opportunities come with the $DAVIS Fan Token, as holders will be included in votes on a number of initiatives and be able to take part in interactive polls.
The $DAVIS fan token will also allow fans to compete with other supporters, as they will be able to take part in quizzes and competitions with other fans from around the world.
Competitors will be placed on a global leader board and can earn real-life and digital club-related prizes. The fan token will also give holders access to the Token Hut, Socios.com’s geo-location, augmented-reality feature.
$DAVIS fan token released on 4 November
The $DAVIS fan token will be released on the 4 November during the Kosmos Sports Summit, a one-day conference in Madrid, Spain.
The 2021 edition of the Davis Cup Finals by Rakuten will take place from 25 November to 5 December, across three different European venues – Madrid, Innsbruck and Milan.
Teams from a total of 18 different countries will be taking part, with the semi-finals and the finals being played in Madrid from 3–5 December.
More than 70 major sporting organisations have partnered with Socios.com, including FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan, Atlético Madrid, and five English Premier League teams – Aston Villa, Leeds United, Everton, Arsenal and Manchester City.
