US states to meet on Google anti-trust case

By Yana Berman

State attorneys will meet in Colorado to discuss the probe

US state attorneys-general, who are investigating Google's possible violation of anti-trust probe, will meet in Colorado next month to discuss the case, sources told Reuters.

They say the meeting will be held on November 11 and organisational issues will be discussed in a long series of gatherings.

The group of 42 state officials, led by the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, initially filed comments to the Federal Trade Commission in June. Later, the Department of Justice opened the probe.

The investigation involves all US state attorneys-general except Alabama and California. The officials are focused on online digital advertising, an area in which Google is a key player.

Google previously confirmed that it received multiple demands on its business. According to the company's representatives, the tech giant was proactively helping regulators.

Another major probe Google currently faces was initiated by the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee. The committee is investigating the impact of market power of online platforms on innovation and entrepreneurship, with Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Apple involved.

This week in New York state, federal enforcers from the Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission met to discuss a similar case against Facebook.
