London to host world’s most valuable gallery NFT exhibition
The value of the NFTs exposed is estimated to be worth more than $20m
London-based HOFA Gallery is going to host ‘Portrait of an Era’, the world’s most valuable gallery non-fungible token (NFT) exhibition featuring blue-chip NFT collectables including six rare Sealed CryptoPunks estimated to be worth more than $20m (£14.4m).
The gallery announced that the exposition will be headlined by a “rare glimpse” of the six wax-sealed CryptoPunks, printed as unique lithographs and signed by Larva Labs Co-Founder, John Watkinson. CryptoPunks are one of the popular blue-chip NFT collectables, “currently the most sought-after crypto artworks in the world", along with Autoglyphs, Meebits and Fidenza.
It was announced: “This hybrid art exhibition will showcase some of the world’s rarest digital NFT creations alongside cutting-edge contemporary physical artworks, and will be open to the public in the gallery next 23 September to 7 October 2021, and across HOFA’s VR mobile and Web App.”
As only 24 Sealed CryptoPunks of this kind have been ever made, with five having recently been auctioned by Sotheby’s London, four sets to be auctioned this month by Christie’s Hong Kong, and the rest in private collections, “Portrait of an Era will be a chance-in-a-lifetime to see the six Punks exhibited together at HOFA Gallery,” said HOFA.
The largest CryptoPunks sales recorded to date were in March 2021, when two were exchanged for $7.57m or ETH 4.2k each. The total value of all CryptoPunks sales amount to ETH 486.59k or $1.26bn.
HOFA, one of the first NFT houses in the world
The exhibition is set to be a remarkable event in NTF history as HOFA gallery is going to launch its own NFT house.

“This is a super important event for us, as we also begin minting and auctioning our ‘own’ NFTs through the HOFA.io platform at the launch. Making us one of the first galleries in the world to launch its own NFT house,” said Elio D’Anna, Co-Founder of HOFA Gallery.
“Portrait of an Era aims to unify conventional and digital art markets in a pioneering exhibition that both embraces the future of the art world and celebrates the digital renaissance currently taking place,” he added.
Other NFT works exposed
Other featured NFT works include samples of the 10,000 NFTs series known as Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
Dutch artist Joseph Klibansky’s visually sculptural works were also announced alongside canvases by French artist Sepand Danesh, whose works were recently showcased at the Dubai Expo 2020.
