Apple Discontinues Its Cheapest Laptop, Starting Price Is Now Over $1,099

Apple has discontinued its cheapest MacBook Air worth $999, setting the starting price for its laptops at $1,099, CNEt reports Tuesday, July 9.

                                

The model is no longer available in the Apple Store, as well as another important model — a $1,299 MacBook 12-inch, which was the smallest one in the lineup.

Currently, the cheapest price for an Apple laptop starts at $1,099. Customers can purchase the new MacBook Air, which has seen a redesign and is now cheaper than Air lineup was before. The entry-level MacBook Pro 13-inch is pricing out at $1,299.

Earlier in June, Apple’s legendary designer Jony Ive announced he was leaving the tech giant to start his own design company. Following the news of Ive’s departure, Apple’s stocks saw a mild decline of 1%.

During its recent presentation, which took place on June 3, Apple presented iOS 13, iPadOS and MacOS Catalina. It also revealed its new Mac Pro and 32-inch Retina 6K display.
