Nashville SC accepts BTC for Valkyrie Investments partnership deal
The full partnership fee is to be paid in bitcoin

Nashville soccer club (SC), which competes in the US Major League Soccer (MLS), the top tier of American soccer, has made Valkyrie Investments a founding partner, with the full partnership fee to be paid in bitcoin (BTC).
Valkyrie Investments is a Nashville-based investment manager focussed on digital assets.
The partnership will see the Premier Club, an 850-seat premium club located in Nashville SC’s new stadium, to be renamed the Valkyrie Premier Club. The Valkyrie Premier Club has been sold out for most of the past year.
The Valkyrie logo will also be featured on the sleeve of the team’s training top.
‘Soccer is a community-driven sport’
Dan Farrell, vice [resident of corporate partnerships at Nashville SC, said: “As a club we want to be pioneers both on and off the pitch while also being authentically Nashville. Partnering with Valkyrie provides both a local tie and a platform to connect sports and entertainment to cryptocurrency in the hottest city in the United States.”
Leah Wald, CEO of Valkyrie Investments, said: “Our industry is all about community, and soccer is very much a community-driven sport. This partnership with Nashville SC is such a natural fit for both of us and is only part of our broader efforts to help establish Music City as a global hub for blockchain and digital assets.”
AZ Alkmaar made similar deal
In July 2021, Netherland’s football club AZ Alkmaar formed a partnership with Dutch crypto provider Bitcoin Meester, making them the club’s first official cryptocurrency partner.
In a statement, the club said both parties are “confident in the future of bitcoin” and as a result of its confidence, the local crypto provider became the club’s promoter, with the sponsorship deal paid in BTC.
At the time AZ Alkmaar said it will keep the proceeds in BTC on its balance sheet, making it the first Dutch club to do so.
