Apple named the best tech company to work for in Britain
Global jobs website Indeed has ranked Apple (AAPL) as the best tech firm to work for in Britain after analyzing “hundreds of thousands” of job reviews left by employees on its websites, CNBC reports.
Apple opened their first European shop in London fifteen years ago, it employs 6,500 employees in the UK.
The technology giant’s position at the top of Indeed’s list was attributed to good pay, discounted tech products, the company’s culture as well as wellness and health benefits.
The California-based iPhone maker opened its first European store in London 15 years ago. It now employs 2,500 people in the capital alone, with 6,500 UK-based employees in total.
Global events producer GDS Group and IT firm Cisco (CSCO) finished second and third respectively, while Microsoft (MSFT) and Siemens (SIE) filled out the top five rated firms.
Fellow tech giant Amazon (AMZN) only just made the list at number 15. Only three British firms made the list but American firms dominated the rankings.
Indeed’s managing director for the UK, Bill Richards stated: "It is not enough for tech employers to bask in this reflected glow and hope would-be recruits will line up to work for them. Intense competition for candidates with specialist tech skills has sparked a battle for talent, and prompted many employers to think carefully and creatively about their offers. With its generous perks and flexible work conditions, the tech sector is often an outlier when it comes to employee packages."
