Apple unveils new AirPods Pro with noise cancellation and better sound

Tech giant Apple has announced new AirPods Pro, which it says will have improved noise reduction and better sound. According to a press release, the new headphones will be available starting October 30.

The new model is slightly different from the previous generation. Each earbud now has a silicone ear tips, which the iPhone producer says will provide better sound for the user. AirPods Pro will come with three different tip sizes, so that users can select the best fit for them. The new headphones will be sweat and water resistant, so that they can be used for active lifestyles.

The new AirPods will reportedly remove background noise better than their predecessors, with two microphones and specialist software to analyse surrounding conditions and adapt sound to the environment. The new model also includes an adaptive equaliser and high dynamic range amplifier.

Apple said that the new earbuds also include a ‘transparency mode’ which allows users to continue listening to music while still hearing traffic and train announcements.. Users can switch between active noise cancellation mode and transparency mode when necessary.

The battery should work for up to five hours of listening time, while the active noise cancellation mode reduces it to four and a half hours.

The new AirPods Pro will be available in U.S. and more than 25 other regions starting October 30 for $249 (£194, €224).
