Juventus Football club launches blockchain tokens allowing fans to make decisions for the club
The tokens will be priced at €2 each and will allow fans in voting and polling in various decisions related around Juventus
Italian football club Juventus has launched its own token allowing fans to participate in voting and polling in various decisions related to the club.
Following a year-long development, Juventus’ branded token is now available on Socios.com, a mobile app for fan voting and rewards.
The tokens are priced at €2 ($2.22, £1.70)) each and , the club, which has Cristiano Ronaldo as a star player said that, a limited number of free tokens will be available through the augmented reality feature of the app, called "Token Hunt”.
Only fans who are in possession of the tokesn will be able to vote in a range of club-related decisions, the first of which will determine the club’s official song for when it scores a goal.
The song choices are "All the Small Things" by Blink 182, "Song 2" by Blur, "Boom" by POD, " Jump Around” by House of Pain.
The winning song will be revealed at the time of the first home goal in 2020.
Giorgio Ricci, Juventus chief revenue officer, said the club’s partnership with Socios.com shows how much technological evolution and innovation are two priorities for Juventus, in the way we relate to and connect with our fan base”.
