Microsoft unveils new Xbox to go on sale next year
Microsoft also introduces new Xbox Wireless Controller to be included with every Xbox Series X
Microsoft has unveiled its new Xbox, the Xbox Series X, at the company’s press conference for industry awards ceremony, The Game Awards.
In a blog post, Microsoft said that this would be the firm’s “fastest, most powerful console ever”, capable of showing images at up to 120 frames per second and coming with 8K video capability.
A price for the new device, which will be available to buy next year, has not been disclosed yet.
Microsoft have said that game creators around the globe are already building content for the Xbox Series X and its 15 Xbox Game Studios are developing the “largest and most creatively diverse line-up” of Xbox exclusive games in its history.
Alongside Xbox Series X, Microsoft also unveiled the new Xbox Wireless Controller. Its size and shape have been refined to accommodate an even wider range of people, and it also features a new Share button to make capturing screenshots and game clips simple and an advanced d-pad derived from the Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller.
The new Xbox Wireless Controller will be compatible with Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, and will be included with every Xbox Series X.
In terms of games, Microsoft showed off the trailer for a new title called “Hellblade 2,” a sequel to the original fantasy action-adventure game.
Sony also dropped a trailer for a new game from American publisher Gearbox called “Godfall,” which will be available with its own next-gen console. However, the firm didn’t offer any new hints about the PlayStation 5.
