Block.one venture capital arm is offering $1.5m in grants
Programme to award projects aiming to improve the EOS ecosystem
Block.one venture capital arm is offering more than $1.5m of grants to projects aiming to improve the EOS ecosystem.
EOS VC, the venture capital arm of blockchain software company Block.one, has opened applications for its programme that will award grants worth $50,000 each.
The aim of the programme is to improve and expand the EOS ecosystem as well as provide another funding avenue for "promising" projects. Candidates of all stages, sizes and industry sectors are encouraged to apply.
"Project size is not a barrier; we welcome world conquerors and local heroes,” EOS VC said in a press release.
“Since the EOSIO software was released in 2018, Block.one has supported the collaboration that has helped fuel the growth of the community of users and developers in all corners of the world,” said Brendan Blumer, CEO of Block.one.
"Through the EOS VC Grants Program, we intend to identify and empower even more people to further enrich the ecosystem with fresh ingenuity and imagination.”
EOS VC was set up to invest more than $1bn in a concentrated and diversified portfolio of blockchain-focused developers and entrepreneurs, building on the EOSIO software.
Block. One hit the headlines in May 2018 when it raised a record $4bn from an initial coin offering, even though its blockchain wasn't yet live. As a result, the US Securities and Exchange Commission fined the Cayman Islands start-up $24m for an unregistered securities sale.
