Dak Prescott, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL), is now the first-ever brand ambassador for Blockchain.com.

The new role comes after the quarterback signed a multiyear deal with the crypto exchange, which was founded in 2011 as a Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain explorer.

Making an announcement via Twitter, CEO and Blockchain.com co-founder Peter Smith said: “Welcome Dak! It’s great to have you on the team.”

Prescott also tweeted: “Just like football, when it comes to crypto you need a company you can trust. That’s why I’m proud to be the first-ever Blockchain.com brand ambassador.”

‘Make crypto less complicated’

Prescott went on to say that he was excited to “make crypto less complicated” as he publicised a newly-released Blockchain.com advert featuring the player. As part of the deal, the quarterback will appear in advertisements on television, radio and social media and will also make appearances at events.

The new ad shows Prescott in a huddle with his Dallas Cowboys teammates, giving his instructions on the next play that only an an avid NFL American football fan would understand.

The voiceover in the ad then states: “What if things weren’t so complicated?” The team conference is then rewound and Prescott gives instructions to his teammates in a way that is far easier to understand.

The voiceover then adds: “At Blockchain.com, we take the complicated world of crypto and make it easier than ever to buy, sell or trade cryptocurrencies.”

Dallas Cowboys first NFL team to announce crypto partner

In April 2022, the professional American football team, the Dallas Cowboys, became the first NFL team to announce a cryptocurrency partner, Blockchain.com.

Jerry Jones, owner, president and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, announced the news that Blockchain.com was the team’s official digital asset partner at a press conference on 13 April.

The deal has meant Blockchain.com receives advertising space inside the AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
