PSG coin price prediction: Will it be a perfect season?
Some analysts predict the fan token will score new records in 2022
There have been great highs and depressing lows for the Paris Saint-Germain football club over the past year, and those changing fortunes are reflected in the PSG Fan Token’s price history. As the team qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals, the token’s price skyrocketed to an all-time high – but when PSG went out of the tournament in the semis, the price saw a dramatic fall.
The PSG Fan Token is a new way for fans to engage with the Paris Saint-Germain football club. By investing in the token, fans can have a say on club-related decisions, such as the design of the bus or the message on the captain’s armband. PSG Fan Token holders are also privy to exclusive rewards, including signed football kits and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Analysts predict it is going to be a good season for the fan token, with new records in store. But before diving into the PSG coin price prediction, let’s look at the fan token’s price history.
PSG Fan Token’s price history
As the PSG Fan Token is not a standard cryptocurrency, its price history is impacted by different factors. For the majority of 2020, PSG did not see much price movement, staying below $10 up until December. Then on 21 December PSG launched on three major exchanges and the price saw its first spike, reaching $29.96.
The fan token launched on Binance, Turkish exchange Paribu and Korean exchange Upbit. According to Socios, the PSG price rose by 198% in 24 hours to €32.75, which was 16 times more than the launch price of €2. However, by the following week the price had dropped back down to around the $10 mark.
The first two months of 2021 were uneventful for the PSG Fan Token. The price began to see action in March as PSG had qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The official Paris Saint-Germain account tweeted that there had been strong demand for the token after the qualification, and there were plans to release new NFTs.
PSG qualified on 10 March and the price skyrocketed by 58% to $17.40. The price kept growing and reached a peak of $26.92 on 13 March. Although the price dipped after the spike, the momentum continued into April, when the football club played the two semi-final matches.
On 26 April, two days before the first semi-final, the price reached its all-time high of $56.04. However, the PSG Fan Token dropped in value when the club lost both of its matches and failed to go through to the Champions League final.
The PSG price was not as high in May but it was an action-packed month for the token. Fans were given the chance to vote on the message that would be written in the locker room. The successful choice was announced on 1 May, which read: “Together we can, together we will! Let’s take another step towards glory and victory.”
During May, the football club gave out exclusive rewards to token holders. These included a signed football kit from Brazillian footballer Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior. It also gave away a replica of the captain’s armband worn when PSG played Metz. The token price fell below $30 at the beginning of May, but after the armband reward was announced, it surged to $43.08 on 18 May.
Over the next month, the PSG price fell below $20, reaching a low of $11.68 on 22 June – but as the transfer window in August approached, the price started a bullish trend.
It reached a peak of $49.90 on 9 August, when Lionel Messi signed a deal to transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. This news boosted the token price as the football star was given a “large number of PSG Fan Tokens,” which Reuters reported had an estimated value of €30m.
In a press release, Socios said: “The hype surrounding the latest signings in the club’s busy summer transfer window created a huge surge of interest in $PSG Fan Tokens, with trading volumes exceeding $1.2bn in the days preceding the move.”
Since the signing, the token has been on a bearish trend, with no spikes even close to the price it attained on 9 August. It has been on a steady downward trend since its peak, and is trading at $16.82 on 3 December 2021.
PSG coin price prediction
Looking at its price history, the PSG Fan Token has seen bullish trends when the football club was performing well or due to new exclusive rewards on the Socios platform. The nature of this means predicting price movements for the football token is difficult. Nevertheless, there are still some analysts that have made PSG Fan Token price predictions.
According to WalletInvestor, buying the football club’s token is an “awesome long-term investment”. Its PSG coin price prediction 2021 is for the coin to go down to $15.44 by 17 December 2022, but it then forecasts the token to skyrocket to $30 by September 2022. This bullish trend is expected to continue and WalletInvestor’s PSG coin price prediction 2025 is between $71 at the beginning of the year, to $89 toward the end.
Analysis from DigitalCoin is even more optimistic: it forecasts the token to reach over $30 by 2022. However, it predicts slightly slower growth compared to WalletInvestor. Its PSG Fan Token price prediction for December 2022 is $32.11 and forecasts the token to reach $49.87 in 2025.
Although Gov Capital only expects the token to reach $23.85 by the New Year 2022, it has a more bullish long-term outlook. Its PSG crypto price prediction is for the token to hit the $30 mark in March next year. Although the site has not published a PSG coin price prediction for 2030, it does suggest that the price will reach $750 by the end of 2026.
It might be. When PSG signed Lionel Messi, the price of the fan token skyrocketed to $49.90. However, it has also seen lows of below the $20 mark when the club lost out on a place in the Champions League final.
Remember, you should always do your own research before investing in any crypto coin or token.
The consensus of the PSG price predictions is for the token to be on a bullish trend over the next five years. WalletInvestor says it will reach $30 by September 2022 and go on to reach $89 by 2025.
However, predictions are often wrong, so remember never to invest more than you can afford to lose.
It depends. The price history of the PSG fan token has been highly volatile and is currently around the $20 mark. Although there are some optimistic price predictions, the PSG token is primarily marketed towards fans of the football club, as it gives them an opportunity to engage with decisions.
