Privacy-focused blockchain The Secret is good enough for Tarantino, but is it good enough for you?

With hundreds of crypto start-ups in existence, and plenty of new ones emerging all the time, differentiating yourself from the crowd can be tricky.

Secret (SCRT), with its Hollywood connections, impressive coin performance and network of supporters who see the benefits of a “secret” blockchain, certainly stands out from the crowd.

So how does this affect a SCRT price prediction? Before looking at forecasts for the coin, let’s do a quick overview.

With a core mission to scale up blockchain, while at the same time understanding that privacy concerns could dog any true expansion, Secret has developed a blockchain with data privacy at its heart.

Unlike current blockchains, which are public by default, with wallet activity and users’ data exposed, Secret uses trusted execution environments, also known as TEEs, to “enable secure private computation over encrypted data”.

By automatically encrypting an individual’s data, this information, in theory, comes under the control of the user. Users are provided with viewing keys by which they can gain access to this sensitive data. They can then control who they share this data with, be it auditors, wallets or explorers.

Secret platform offers Secret Finance, Secret smart contracts and, as used by the film director Quentin Tarantino, Secret NFTs.

Who founded Secret?

Guy Zyskind is the founder and CEO of SCRT Labs, the driving force behind Secret Network. Before starting SCRT Labs in June 2016 in Tel Aviv, Israel, Guy co-founded and acted as CTO for the app Tamkix. He studied electrical engineering at Tel Aviv University, before completing a master’s degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016.

Nir Zyskind is the director of business development and operations at SCRT Labs. Nir co-founded Tamkix after studying mass communication and business administration at a university in Israel.

How does this affect a SCRT price prediction for 2022? Or even a SCRT price prediction for 2030? Before we look at the experts’ opinion, let’s look briefly at the coin’s past performance.

Past performance

The price of SCRT coin surged soon after launch, from $0.5291 on 30 September 2020 to $4.6721 on 21 February 2021. It subsequently dropped on 25 March to $2.4279, before rising again to $4.7596 on 15 April 2021. In late May, however, the SCRT coin fell dramatically, hitting $1.5348 on 24 May and $0.8119 by 20 July 2021.

The price subsequently began to rise again. On 10 October 2021, SCRT coin broke the $5 mark, reaching $6.9576 on 11 October 2021. Despite substantial volatility into November, SCRT surged to record highs of $9.9148 on 7 November 2021. This surge was closely followed by a nosedive, as the SCRT coin dropped to $3.8373 on 17 December 2021.

At the time of writing on 25 May 2022, the price is trading at $2.06. There is a current circulating supply of 170 million SCRT coins, and the project has a current market cap of $344m. The SCRT price has surged more than tenfold in the past year, according to CoinGecko.

Let’s look at what the experts think.

SCRT price prediction: Expert opinion

It is important, when looking at predictions, to remember that while they can be helpful as an indicator of which direction the price may move in, they should be viewed as possibilities rather than absolutes. This is especially the case when looking at longer-term forecasts, which can sometimes be completely off the mark due to the inherent volatility of the crypto market, as well as the many unknowns which could affect future prices.

With all that in mind, let’s look at some Secret coin price predictions.

WalletInvestor thinks Secret could surge to $5.48 in one year’s time and $19.09 in five years’ time., in an even more bullish Secret crypto price prediction, estimates the Secret price prediction for 2023 at $17.616. The platform gives a SCRT price prediction for five years of $146.28.

DigitalCoinPrice also sees the coin increasing in value. The platform thinks that Secret could be worth $2.94 in both 2023 and 2024. The website’s SCRT price prediction for 2025 stands at $3.85.

Potentially. Many experts think the coin will continue to rise.

However, it is always worth remembering that the crypto market is highly volatile, and that the price of all tokens and coins can go down as well as up.

It could go up, however it could also go down. With a compelling proposition and plenty of press the prospects look good, but increasing regulation or macro factors could end up having a negative impact on the price of the coin.

It is worth remembering that forecasts, especially long-term ones, are better viewed as indicators rather than absolutes.

Investing is a highly personal endeavour. Do your own research and try to keep up-to-date with any developments within the Special ecosystem that could boost or dampen its prospects.
