Uber launches loyalty programme for UK drivers
Taxi app to reward top UK drivers with complimentary education courses, gym memberships and more in 2020

Uber is launching a loyalty programme for its UK drivers offering free education courses, 24/7 roadside assistance and discounted car maintenance, the ride-hailing company said.
The programme, known as Uber Pro, will enable drivers to unlock rewards that will help them on the road.
Drivers can also get a free gym membership with Gympass, will be able to receive airport pickups quicker and will have access to the extra Destinations feature, allowing drivers to only receive trip requests going in the direction they want.
Uber Pro is a rewards system with Blue, Gold, Platinum and Diamond tiers. All drivers will automatically receive a Blue status if they join Uber Pro.
To unlock the Gold, Platinum or Diamond tiers, drivers need to maintain a 4.85 star rating and a low cancellation rate.
What is your sentiment on UBER?
Riders will be able to see a driver’s Uber Pro status in the app when they request a ride.
Last month, regulator Transport for London gave the Silicon Valley-based firm a two-month licence in London (instead of the maximum five years) after it was stripped of its right to operate in the UK capital in 2017.
Uber Pro is already available in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, India and France and is scheduled to be fully launched across the UK from January 2020.
