Xiaomi launches world’s first phone with 108-megapixel camera as standard

Chinese manufacturer’s high-end Mi Note 10 will be available in Europe shortly

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Xiaomi has confirmed that its Mi Note 10, the first commercial phone with a 108-megapixel camera, will go on sale in Europe later this month.

The phone, which has a five-camera system on the rear coupled with Samsung’s 108-megapixel sensor, was launched as the CC9 Pro in China yesterday.

It goes on sale in Germany on November 11, and in Italy, Spain and France a week after. There is no confirmation yet of a launch date in other countries, including the UK.

Phones with 48 and 64-megapixel sensors are widely available, but a 108-megapixel sensor is a significant leap.
