Amazon invests $100m into new warehouses in Mexico
The new facilities will altogether create 1,500 jobs

Amazon has invested $100m (£76m, €84m) in new warehouses in Mexico, including its first shipping centres outside the Mexican capital, to increase the speed of its delivery services.
The new sites include two fulfilment centres, one which will be near the northeastern city of Monterrey and another near the central city of Guadalajara. This brings the number of fulfilment centres opened by Amazon in Mexico to five.
Monterrey and Guadalajara are the two biggest metropolitan zones of the country after the heavily populated Mexico City area. Amazon will also open a support building in the State of Mexico just outside the capital city.
The new facilities represent 69,000 square meters (742,710 sq ft) of space altogether and will create 1,500 direct and indirect jobs, Amazon said.

Amazon, which launched its marketplace in Mexico in 2015, has also opened 12 delivery stations, bringing its total to 27 across the country, it said.
Amazon is also seeking to make inroads in Brazil, where it recently opened its fifth and biggest fulfilment centre in the country, covering a space of 100,000 square meters (1,076,391 sq ft).
