Bitcoin is the most-Googled crypto in the world
…but dogecoin (DOGE) is the most-Googled crypto in the US
Bitcoin (BTC) has been revealed to be the most-Googled crypto worldwide in 2021 – while dogecoin (DOGE) is the most-Googled digital currency in the US.
CasinoSites.org discovered that BTC was searched for on Google every month 24.6 million times worldwide.
DOGE came in second place for the most-Goggled crypto worldwide, with an average of 13.3 million searches per month, according to financial adviser business, The Advisor Coach.
Considering DOGE is the tenth most valuable crypto, according to CoinMarketCap, it has certainly caught the attention of the US and globally.
By analysing Google Trends, The Advisor Coach found that out of 50 US states, people in 23 of them Googled DOGE the most. The states that ranked highest in DOGE searches included Illinois, Florida, Hawaii and New Jersey.
Ethereum (ETH) came in third with 5.7 million searches per month globally, despite being ranked as the second most valuable crypto.
Ripple (XRP) had an average of 2.3 million monthly searches globally, coming in fifth, and cardano (ADA) was sixth with 1.6 million global searches per month.
Some jokes land better than others
A spokesperson for CasinoSites.org said: “The growth of cryptocurrencies in recent years has been colossal, with no sign of slowing down any time soon.
“It is very interesting to see the growth and popularity of ‘meme coins’, with many people now seeing great potential in crypto coins that were originally perceived to be a joke. It will no doubt be exciting to watch the growth of the market and to see how the industry evolves.”
