Over 50% of the world’s top universities have blockchain-related courses, study shows

According to a recent study published by Coinbase on Wednesday, August 28, the world’s top universities have shown growing interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

The 50 top universities for the study were chosen according to the U.S. News & World Report ranking. Coinbase revealed that, as of 2019, 50% of them already have blockchain and crypto classes, while in 2018 only 42% had them.

Some of the courses found by Coinbase were related to computer science. However, crypto-related classes were also integrated into finance, economics, and law faculties.

Moreover, Coinbase together with survey service Qriously interviewed 735 students aged 16 and older. The survey showed that young students are significantly interested in crypto-related courses. In 2018, there were only 28% of respondents who would take such class, and in 2019^ there are already 34% of them.

In addition to that, over 18% of the students who participated in the survey admitted they already participated in some kind of crypto-related class.
