Lindsay Lohan’s Canine Cartel NFT on OpenSea
The auction for the NFT ends Saturday 2 October 17.00 BST (UTC +1)
Lindsay Lohan, the American actress and singer who has appeared in such films as Mean Girls, Freaky Friday and The Parent Trap has launched a non-fungible token (NFT) with the Canine Cartel, a company that creates NFTs of human-like dogs on OpenSea, an NFT marketplace.
The NFT shows a fursona – personalised animal character – of Lohan. The NFT is called Lindsay Lohan.
The bidding for the Lohan NFT on OpenSea ends at 17:00 BST (UTC +1) on 2 October. At the time of writing, the bid stands at $1,593 (or 0.51 ether).
In the run-up to the Canine Cartel’s release of the doggified Lohan NFT, on 27 September, the celebrity tweeted that “Canine Cartel is one to watch,” stating it has “great art, awesome roadmap, riveting storyline [and] donations to dog shelters.” She then reported that she had just bought one of the group’s NFTs.
Two days later, on 29 September, Lohan also announced to her 8.2 million followers on Twitter the creation of her own Canine Cartel NFT along with a link to the auction and a brief “Best of luck!” message.
Snoop Dogg and NFTs
In September, Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, tweeted that he was the person behind Cozomo de’Medici, a popular NFT Twitter channel.
The Twitter profile is new, having only been created August 2021, but has already amassed 60.3K followers. The account’s Twitter bio reads: “Sharing tales & insights from the wild world of NFTs.”
Snoop Dogg is not new to the NFT space and launched his own NFTs on Crypto.com in April this year. The rapper’s first NFT was titled A Journey with the Dogg.
The collection represents Snoop Dogg’s memories from his early years with art inspired by the NFT movement and a track called NFT.
At the time, Snoop Dogg said about his NFTs: “I've seen the game change over the years from analogue to digital and I'm always happier when the technology lets the fans get to connect with the artists. NFTs are an amazing innovation, and it is an honour to do my first drop with Crypto.com/NFT.”
