McLaren’s F1 racer Ricciardo becomes global ambassador of OKX
Daniel Ricciardo will now support a global campaign which will educate motor racing fans on crypto trading
OKX, the crypto spot and derivatives trading exchange, has partnered with Daniel Ricciardo, the Italian-Australian driver who races for the McLaren Formula One (F1) team and made him a global ambassador during the 2022/23 racing season.
OKX state this partnership will “supercharge the fan experience” as Ricciardo will support a global campaign which will educate fans on crypto trading. Additionally, Ricciardo will collaborate with designers from underrepresented communities to create a special edition racing helmet which will be worn during a race.
The 2022 Monaco Grand Prix on 29 May will be the first race that Ricciardo takes part in as OKX global ambassador. Ricciardo will wear OKX branding on his racing cap.
‘It is an exciting time in the world of crypto’
Ricciardo said: "It is an exciting time in the world of crypto, the possibilities are endless. I'm honoured to partner with OKX, who are one the leaders in this space. They truly value their customers, and education, transparency and security are paramount to them. The fan experience is going to be at the centre of everything we do together, so expect big things from us this year. Game on!"
Haider Rafique, chief marketing officer at OKX, said: "After spending time with Daniel talking about his passion for crypto trading but more importantly his desire to learn, it was obvious he is a seamless fit for OKX. The loveable F1 favourite will be integral in helping us expand the reach of OKX, supercharge the fan experience and educate new audiences on the benefits of trading responsibly with crypto. We are thrilled to be able to announce our long-term partnership ahead of the iconic Monaco Grand Prix, a race that is so special to Daniel."
Already a partner
In March 2022, OKX announced a multi-year partnership with McLaren Racing to become a primary partner of the McLaren F1 team and McLaren Shadow esports team.
Because of this, Ricciardo’s helmet already has the OKX logo on it, as does the helmet of the other McLaren F1 driver, Lando Norris, and the McLaren Shadow esports team kits.
