Volkswagen unveils new all-electric car concept

0'>Volkswagen has unveiled a new concept vehicle called the ID Space Vizzion to be launched at the end of 2021 in different variations in Europe, North America and China.

It is the seventh “ID” concept that VW has introduced since 2016 that uses its MEB platform, a flexible modular system for producing electric vehicles.

Like all the ID models, the new ID Space Vizzion will be fully electric and will “embody a fresh approach”, Volkswagen said.

One particularly striking feature is the front section with airflow openings, enabling a drag coefficient of 0.24. The new vehicle combines the aerodynamic qualities of a Gran Turismo with the generous interior space of an SUV – thereby defining an entirely new segment.

With a gross battery capacity of 82 kWh it will allow distances of up to 590km or 300 miles. It will have a system output of up to 250 kW and will accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds (5 seconds to 60 mph).

This new version follows the ID, ID Crozz, ID Buzz, ID Vizzion, ID Buggy and ID Roomzz.

The world premiere of the ID Space Vizzion took place at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles which exhibits the facets of future vehicles from design and prototypes to insights of the production.
